Description	:	Lone Tree Reporter, Thursday, May 31, 1973 Thomas Lee Keeler, 18, of rural Columbus Junction, was killed in a truck-pedestrian accident about 4 a.m. Wednesday about one mile east of the Ainsworth corner intersection of highways 92 and 218. The accident was investigated by Washington County Sheriff Officials. The youth apparently walked into the side of a semi trailer truck as the driver was attempting to avoid striking the youth. Thomas was born August 10, 1954. to Bruce and Pauline Powers Keeler in Iowa City. He was a member of he Methodist church. Thomas was a senior at Columbus community High School and would have graduated May 24. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Keeler, rural Columbus Jct., his grandfather, Roy Powers, Columbus Jct., one sister, Vicki at home, James of Washington, John of Columbus Jct., and Ronald, Steve, Gerald and Randall, all at home; and one half-brother Donald Powers of West Liberty. Pallbearers included Benjamin Maher, Le Claire, James Maher, Ainsworth, Edward Maher, Ainsworth, Russel Keeler, Ainsworth, Kenneth Keeler, Lone Tree and Robert Barkalow, West Liberty. Honorary pallbearers were Don Johnson, Jerry Long and Jim Cups, all of Columbus Jct.
