Born near Waterville, Oct 28, 1891, Mr. Slack spent his early life there. On May 6, 1916, he was married to Marion Hill at Wenatchee. The family resided on a farm at Waterville until moving to Wenatchee in 1919. For many years Mr. Slack was employed by Bird and Hobson and John B. Knowles as a power-shovel operator. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and Local No. 302, Operating Engineers. Surviving are: his widow, Marion, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Linkem of Burlingame, Calif., and Mrs. H. J. Buchanan of Grosse Point, Mich.; two brothers, Keith R. Slack of Waterville and Hugh J. Slack of Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. L. L. McCormick of Chelan and Mrs. L. T. Rivers of Leavenworth; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services are announced by Jones and Jones. Wenatchee World, May 2, 1957, p. 14
