Description	:	Bruno Becher, 94, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Country Side Home in Madison, Nebraska. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, at 10:30 AM at St John's Lutheran Church (12.5 miles north) with Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home. Bruno was born on December 7, 1918, in Platte County, Nebraska, to Fred and Freida (Hellbusch) Becher. He was baptized and confirmed at St John's Lutheran Church and attended school at St John's Lutheran School. On July 14, 1940, he was united in marriage to Hazel Rupp at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Parsonage in Columbus. They made their home on the family farm north of Columbus where they farmed and raised their family. They stayed on the farm until 1997 when they moved in to Columbus. Bruno was a lifelong member of St John's Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee for six years. Bruno is survived by Daughter: JoAnn (Rich) Grennan of Omaha, NE Grandchildren: Mark (Amy) Grennan, Jodi (Peyton) Pratt, Kay (Joey) Crocker, and Karla (Brad) Dubisar, all of Omaha, NE. Son: Leland Becher of Columbus, NE Grandson: Blake (Leigh) Becher of Omaha, NE 10 great grandchildren He is preceded in death by Wife: Hazel Becher Parents: Fred and Freida Becher Sister: Elsie Franzen Brothers: Edgar and Carroll Becher.
