Description	:	B. B. PYLE, farmer, was born July 4, 1824. His father died before his birth, and his mother, Mary H, married again soon after he was born. He was bound out to Mr. Thomas Crooks after the manner of early times. The life he led in his early home knew little of childhood's pleasures, for, as soon as he was able, he was put at severe manual labor. Read More	B. B. PYLE, farmer, was born July 4, 1824. His father died before his birth, and his mother, Mary H, married again soon after he was born. He was bound out to Mr. Thomas Crooks after the manner of early times. The life he led in his early home knew little of childhood's pleasures, for, as soon as he was able, he was put at severe manual labor. Not having been allowed the privilege of attending school but very little at an early age, in 1839, he determined to obtain some advantages in that direction. With this object in view, he came with his brother John to Wabash County, where he has since made his home, and by industry has accumulated a handsome competency, owning at present 158 acres of good farming land, on which he has built good farm buildings. He purchased a tract of land in Arkansas, which he sold at a handsome profit after giving it his personal attention for several winters. His step- father losing his life in the Black Hawk war, Mr. Pyle and his brother sent for their mother and took care of her until her death. Mr. Pyle, in June, 1847, was married to Elizabeth McNamee, and of eleven children born to them, eight— Francis P., Thomas C, Elizabeth E., John F., George M., Mary J., Martha E. and James S.— are still living.
