Description	:	Burton Calvin Hutchison was born at Millidegeville, Illinois, November 24, 1878, eldest son of Ella and Albert Hutchison. He came to Nebraska by covered wagon with his family at the age of eight years and spent the rest of his life in and near Valentine. On October 8, 1919, he was united in marriage with Mable Ivy Burley. He passed away at his home in Valentine, Nebraska, July 15, 1958. On October 8, 1919, he was united in marriage with Mable Ivy Burley. He passed away at his home in Valentine, Nebraska, July 15, 1958. He is survived by his wife, Ivy, three sons, Albert of Omaha, Walter of Canton, Georgia, and Burton of Valentine; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Porter of Sylmar, California, and Mrs. Doris Studeny of Valentine; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; three brothers, Bob of Los Angeles, California, Clarence and Earl of Portland, Oregon; a host of relatives and friends. His parents, one daughter, Ella, two sisters Ella and Minnie, two brothers, Lew and Henry, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held July 19th at the Watts Funeral Home in Valentine. Burial was at Norden, Nebraska. A note from Peggy Litzo: His first wife was Clara M Samlley - they lived in Oregon around 1910 - she was the mother of Ella, Walter and Albert three of the children mentioned in the obituary. They were divorced prior to 1917. I have not located been able to locate Clara M Smalley Hutchinson Ashburn (she remarried and later divorced Frank Hennis Ashburn of Valentine) Her mother Julia Ann Jewell Smalley is at Mount Hope - Valentine and that obituary indicates that Clara had resumed using the name Hutchinson. Who says the past isn't exciting?
