He was married to Phoebe Keltz, March 1, 1865. To this union seven children were born, four of whom died in infancy. They moved to Cherokee in August 1877, where they have since resided. He was married to Phoebe Keltz, March 1, 1865. To this union seven children were born, four of whom died in infancy. They moved to Cherokee in August 1877, where they have since resided. He died April 28, 1921, at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 14 days. There are left to mourn his death his wife and three children, Mrs. W.H. Jenkins and Mrs. Harlo Williams of this city and Mrs. Daye Hughes of Kansas City, Mo. Also leaves two sisters and one brother, as well as several grandchildren. We cannot remember the time we did not know Mr. Bea. In our boyhood days we remember he was a stone mason and worked on many public jobs with Yankee Robinson. Three of his grandsons learned the printing business in The Sentinel office and they were all fine young men, and have all made good. For several years Mr. Bea has been unable to work at his trade, but he was always busy doing something around home. He hauled much wood, ties, etc., cutting them up into fuel lengths. We believe this had much to do with his holding onto life for so many years. Funeral services were held at the home on the east side Friday afternoon by Rev. Torrence of the Methodist church and interment made in the Cherokee cemetery. Contributed by Cheryl White
