Gregg, in McCune, Kansas, aged 66 years and 6 months. When two years old she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Butler Bea, to Cherokee, Kansas, where she spent the greater part of her life. She was married to William H. Jenkins, December 30, 1893, and to this union were born five children. Their first child, Lydia, died during infancy, and the third, Floyd H., died in Kansas City, April 13, 1934. The other three children remain to mourn her loss. They are: Elmer L., of Topeka; Frank of Detroit and Mrs. Clara Gregg of McCune. Also surviving her are her husband and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hughes of Kansas City and Mrs. Sarah William of Cherokee; and four grandchildren, in addition to a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mother Jenkins was a member of the Cherokee Methodist church and was an active and enthusiastic worker in the church as long as she lived in Cherokee. A dozen years ago she and her husband left Cherokee, to make their home with their son in Topeka. They had lived there since that time, but at the time of her death were staying for the winter at the home of their daughter in McCune. In Topeka, Mrs. Jenkins was an active member of the Auxiliary of the Topeka Typographical Union, serving as chaplain of the organization. Both during World War I and during the present World War she was active in Red Cross sewing, a labor she loved. The reward for service meant very little to her, but the opportunity to serve meant a great deal. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. James B. Wright, the pastor, and burial was in the Cherokee cemetery.
