Mr. Clark was in the Clarkson hospital where he had gone to receive treatment for his eyes. His death was rather sudden and unexpected up to within a few hours of dissolution. Mr. Clark was in the Clarkson hospital where he had gone to receive treatment for his eyes. His death was rather sudden and unexpected up to within a few hours of dissolution. His son, County Clerk W. H. Clark, went to Omaha on the first train and brought the remains to Genoa, where the funeral ceremonies were held Sunday from the home of the deceased, one mile and a half from that place. Mr. Clark was born in Mercer county, Pa., Jan. 17, 1821; moved to Illinois in 1853, where he resided until 1858 when he moved to Iowa, settling in Linn county, where he lived until he came to Nance county in 1887. In 1891 Mr. and Mrs. Clark celebrated their golden wedding, having lived at the time of his death 56 years together. This is a much longer time than is generally alloted to man and wife, but an abstaneous and careful life brings its own reward. Deceased was a member of the M. E. church and was an honored and influential citizen. Preceded in death by his parents, son Samuel, daughters Mary, Philintert, and Margaret, he leaves a widow Mary and one son and one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Parr and W. H. Clark. Caleb Clark will long live in the memory of those who knew him best, and in his life's work he leaves behind the record of a good and honest man. ******************************************************
