Description	:	Cal was born to Clarence and Maxine (Chapman) Geis where he spent most of his childhood. The family moved to Belle Fourche where he graduated from high school in 1955. He attended the University of South Dakota for 1 year. In the summer of 1956 Cal was cruising Main where he spotted his future wife walking home for lunch. She would become his wife of sixty years. Read More	Cal was born to Clarence and Maxine (Chapman) Geis where he spent most of his childhood. The family moved to Belle Fourche where he graduated from high school in 1955. He attended the University of South Dakota for 1 year. In the summer of 1956 Cal was cruising Main where he spotted his future wife walking home for lunch. She would become his wife of sixty years. They were joined in marriage on August 10, 1957 and became parents of three children. Cal enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family. He was involved in many community and civic organizations. He served on the Belle Fourche School Board, City Council, and Butte County Commissioners. He was on the Black Hills Roundup Committee for 50 plus years, was a member of the Lions Club for 35 years, Belle Fourche Economic Development, West River Foundation, and SD Workforce Development under the Department of Labor. Those grateful to have shared in his life are his wife, ;a daughter, and son, four; grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother and sister. Cal was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Maxine; daughter, Lisa Geis; 2 sisters, Charlotte and Lorraine and 3 brothers, Sherry, Bill, and Kenny. A memorial has been established for the Geis Memorial, a 501(c)3 organization that benefits the youth of Belle Fourche and surrounding area.
