Description	:	Calvin Langley, 70, Emporia, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998 at a hospital here. He had received a heart transplant June 15, 1991. He was born March 7, 1928, north of Emporia, to John J. and Stella Hoyt Langley. He was a farmer and cattle rancher. He owned and operated the Calvin Langley Truck Line 31 years. He had been a driver for Interstate Brands-Dolly Madison Bakery in Emporia. He recently worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental in Emporia. He recently worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental in Emporia. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Emporia and had served on several church boards. He was a member of the Sertoma Club in Emporia since 1980. He was president of the club in 1993-94 and was named Sertoman of the Year in 1995. He was married to Frances Simmons Aug. 15, 1967, near Reading. They were active in lobbying for the 1980 change in Kansas law that includes a provision for grandparent visitation rights. They also were members of a volunteer group that transported people to other cities for radiation treatments. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Robert Robinson, Salina; a daughter, Cynthia Rhoads, Overland Park; a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Emporia. Cremation will follow. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodsist Church in Emporia, 66801.
