Born on the 6th of April 1954, he was the son of Dorothy Anne (Dudley)Freeman and the late Campbell Courtenay Freeman, MD. Campbell graduated from Williston Elko High School in 1972. He attended Clemson University where he continued as a percussionist in the Tiger Marching Band, before transferring to the University of South Carolina, School of Music. Read More	Mr. Campbell Courtenay Freeman, Jr., 67, died on the 19th of September 2021. Born on the 6th of April 1954, he was the son of Dorothy Anne (Dudley)Freeman and the late Campbell Courtenay Freeman, MD. Campbell graduated from Williston Elko High School in 1972. He is survived by his mother Mrs. D. D. Freeman, his sister Anne Gallimore (Dave) of Los Alamos, NM, his daughters Anne Courtenay Freeman (Bill Reed) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Ashley Balakas (Ryan) of Englewood, CO, his grandchildren George Balakas, Elliott Balakas, and Penelope Reed, and his beloved cat, Pluto. Campbell loved music and was a talented musician acting as a percussionist in the "Fresh Air" band and "The Whatever Band" for many years. He was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants and had many passions including music, fishing, acrobatic kites, high power rocketry, and painting. For many years, Campbell was involved with his beloved church, St. John's Episcopal in Columbia. He was incredibly proud of his twin daughters, Ashley & Courtenay, as well as his three grandchildren. Henry David Thoreau Given Campbell's variety of passions, memorials may be made to a charity of your choosing. A private service is scheduled for the 9th of October 2021 at Christ Church in Mount Pleasant, SC. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
