She was married to F. Pierce Emmons August 20, 1873. At an early age she united with the Methodist Protestant church of Virginia Grove near Tipton, Iowa. Read More	the following obituary was provided by FindAGrave contributor, Raymond Riley: The Farmers' Vindicator (Valley Falls) Friday, 14 February 1919 Arrington Column EMMONS Candace Grace Bolton was born near Tipton, Iowa, March 21, 1851 and passed away at her home near Larkin, Kansas, February 1, 1919 at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 12 days. She was married to F. Pierce Emmons August 20, 1873. At an early age she united with the Methodist Protestant church of Virginia Grove near Tipton, Iowa. All her life the church has been first in her thoughts and interests. She loved the bible and prayer and during her illness often asked those who came in to pray for her. She was a woman of strong affections and very devoted to her home. One of her characteristics was her thoughtfulness of others. She appreciated her friends so much and what they did for her during her long illness. One of her friends was heard to remark, "There is not a woman in the community who has more friends than Mrs. Emmons." Many times in her severe suffering she said "Oh to go and be at rest." Yet no one ever heard her complain, her patience was remarkable. A few weeks ago she began singing these lines, but was too weak to finish the song: "How sweet is the love of my Savior "Tis boundless and deep as the sea. And best of it all it is daily Growing sweeter and sweeter to me Dearer and Dearer each day O wonderful love of my Saviour Growing dearer each step of the way She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, her only child, Mrs. Haymer Covert, her son-in-law and her grandson Willie Covert, two sisters and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was laid to rest in the Moore grave yard north of Larkin. The funeral sermon was preached by her pastor, Rev. Lackland. Altho the weather was very cold and bad, quite a crowd attended the services and expressed their sorrow in the loss of a good friend and neighbor and their sympathy with the dear ones she left behind. -------------------------
