Frank Tull, retired boat builder and waterman, died at the home of his son, Mr. Long Tull on Chesapeake Avenue extended last Saturday morning at the age of 89 years. He had been in failing health for about three years, since the death of his wife. Captain Frank was born near Pocomoke City in 1860, and had lived at Tylerton, Smiths Island, for a number of years, afterward coming to Crisfield where he has resided for the past 40 years. He was best known as a master craftsman in the building of boats, and was noted for his honesty and integrity. Captain Frank was a blunt spoken man, admired for his energy and application in his work and for his knowledge of building. He had made many friends in the community and along the water courses who thoroughly enjoyed his company. Kind hearted, in his long life he performed many deeds of kindness, quietly and frequently without public knowledge. He was a fine citizen, a good husband and father, and a member of Immanuel Methodist church where he loved to attend services. His death has caused sincere sorrow in the community. Funeral services were held in Immanuel Methodist church at 2.00 p.m. Monday, conducted by Rev. Melvin E. Wheatley. Interment was in the Crisfield cemetery. Bearers were Major Todd, Ed Ross Evans, Emory Nelson, Stacius Bundick, Paul Ayres and Charles H. Bradshaw. He is survived by five children, Mrs. Florence Bradshaw of Kingston, Norwood Tull of Tylerton, Long Tull, Corman Tull and Roger Tull of Crisfield. Twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren also survive. The Crisfield Times, September 2, 1949 pg.1
