Description	:	He was the son of Thomas & Hannah (Gibbard) Clark and the grandson of my ancestor, DEACON GEORGE & SARAH CLARK. He married Mehetable Phippen in 1695-6. ________________________ Samuel Thomas Clark was born to Thomas Clark and Hannah (Gibbard) Clark on August 4, 1666 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was Christened on October 9, 1670 in Milford. He married Mehitable Phippen in June 1695 in Milford. Samuel served in the Connecticut Militia in the Milford First Company as a Lieutenant in May 1718. The following year in may 1719 he was promoted to Captain.... He married Mehetable Phippen in 1695-6. ________________________ Samuel Thomas Clark was born to Thomas Clark and Hannah (Gibbard) Clark on August 4, 1666 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was Christened on October 9, 1670 in Milford. He married Mehitable Phippen in June 1695 in Milford. Samuel served in the Connecticut Militia in the Milford First Company as a Lieutenant in May 1718. The following year in may 1719 he was promoted to Captain. From 1722 to 1725 he served as the Justice of the Peace. Samuel was a wealthy man, and there was considerable action on his estate because of oversights, such as the failure to inventory or divide lands in Derby. The final inventory amounted to L 10,373.09.10 1/2. Distribution was made March 9, 1726/7, to the eldest son Samuel Clark; to the second son Thomas Clark; to the third son John Clark; to the 4th son Gamaliel Clark; Mrs. Hannah Tousey; the representatives of Mahitable Bryan; "Anne Clarks part". A suit for partition against Gamaliel Clark of Milford brought by Thomas Clark of Milford, John Clark of Middletown, Thomas Towsey of Newtown in right of his wife Hannah, and Richard Bryan, Jr. and Mehetable Bryan of Milford (minors who sued by their father Richard Bryan), was before the Superior court, March 1, 1736/7. Samuel died on May 28, 1725 at age 58 years, 9 months, and 24 days old in Milford. He was buried in Milford Cemetery in Milford. Samuel and Mehitable had ten children, Hannah Clark, Samuel Clark, Thomas Clark, Mehitable Clark, Mehitable Clark, Oliver Clark, Sarah Clark, Anne Clark, John Clark, Gamaliel Clark.
