| Description | : | Thomas came to Newport from Sandwich Mass. with his father Eliab of Maine, and his mother Matilda Barlow King sometime after 1820. Thomas was a master mariner and was owner or part owner of over 20 sailing vessels. He served in the Civil Was as an Acting Master. He moved to Jamestown around 1865 and was a Bay Pilot, and Keeper of the Beavertail Lighthouse from 1869 to 1873.
