Description	:	BIDWELL — Carl B. Waugh, 85, went home to Heaven early Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Holzer Senior Care Center in Bidwell. He was surrounded by many loved ones during his final days. Carl was born July 5, 1928, in Bladen, Ohio, to the late Homer and Lula (Simms) Waugh. Carl was born July 5, 1928, in Bladen, Ohio, to the late Homer and Lula (Simms) Waugh. He married Emma Lee Johnson Waugh on Jan. 3, 1949, at Catlettsburg, Ky., and together they were blessed with five children: Carla (Rick) Swain, of Rio Grande, Jimmy (Lynette) Saunders, of Godfrey, Ill., Jerry Lee Waugh, of Xenia, Sharon (Will) Sheets, of Gallipolis, and Bruce (Pam) Waugh, of Columbus; 12 grandchildren: Rick (Sonja) Swain, Heather (Nick) Robinson, the Rev. Matt (Becca) Swain, Casey (Kim) Waugh, Gina Waugh, Ryan (Rachel) Shafer, Trevor (Megan) Shafer, Stephanie and Josh Waugh, Jeff, Jason (Heather) and Joe Saunders; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; dear brother Howard R. Waugh, of Gallipolis; daughter-in-law Jeri Ann Ernest; nieces and nephews whom he loved so much; and very special neighbors. He lived in Guyan Township for more than 43 years and operated a small farm before moving to Rodney. He was employed for 30 years by Gallipolis Developmental Center (GSI) as a supervisor, Haskin-Tanner Clothiers, of Gallipolis, for 13 years and he was also employed by Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, and McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Gallipolis. He was a former member of the Gallia County Local School Board of Education for eight years, as well as a former member of the Jackson-Gallia-Vinton Vocational school board. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Crown City. In later years, he faithfully attended Faith Baptist Church in Rodney. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by brothers Homer and Merrill; and sister Jewell Steele. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Faith Baptist Church, 3615 Jackson Pike in Rodney, with the Rev. Matthew Swain and the Rev. Jim Lusher officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Crown City. Friends and family may call at the church Friday between 6-8 p.m. McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, in Gallipolis is honored to serve the Waugh family.
