He was born January 11, 1929 in Hancock County Ohio to Ruhl and Martha (Smith) Hickerson. He married Helen Downing on July 26, 1952 in Findlay OH and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter Mrs. Carlett (Bill) Glaser of McComb. There are 8 grandchildren Amy Clymer, Cresta Montgomery, Michelle Hickerson, Carl D. Hickerson Jr; a grandson Eric Glaser, and brothers Harold Hickerson and Ron Hickerson. Mr. Hickerson was a retired truck driver and transporter for Findlay Ford. He was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. He was a member of the Findlay VFW. Mr. Hickerson was also a member of the N.W Ohio Antique Machinery Assoc., Antique Railroad Assoc., Cornhuskers Assoc. of Wyandot County, and the Hancock County Civil Air Patrol. Visitation will be on Thursday September 13, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME in McComb. The funeral service will be on Friday September 14, 2007 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Mayne officiating. Burial will be in McComb Union Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the Hancock County Veterans Squad. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donors choice.
