Description	:	The Clay County Sun (Clay Center, NE), Thursday, December 14, 1922; pg. 2 OBITUARY Mr. Carl John Ambrose Carlson was born in Heene Smaland, Sweden, April 4, 1832 and was united in the holy bond of wedlock to Caroline Sophia Pearson of September 11th 1864. To this union were born 11 children, 7 sons and 4 daughters, of which number 6 preceeded (sic) their father through the Valley of Death. Read More	The Clay County Sun (Clay Center, NE), Thursday, December 14, 1922; pg. 2 OBITUARY Mr. Carl John Ambrose Carlson was born in Heene Smaland, Sweden, April 4, 1832 and was united in the holy bond of wedlock to Caroline Sophia Pearson of September 11th 1864. To this union were born 11 children, 7 sons and 4 daughters, of which number 6 preceeded (sic) their father through the Valley of Death. Mr. Carlson arrived in this country in the spring of 1868 locating in Illinois for a few years before coming to Verona where he became one of the pioneer residents of this section remaining here until the final summons came on Thursday morning December 7, 1922. He survived by wife, by about five years as she passed away on April 23, 1918. He leaves 5 children, 3 sons and 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 1 brother, other relatives and a large circle of neighbors and friends to mourn his loss. Dearest father, thou has left us, And our loss we deeply feel, But 'tis God that has bereft us He can all our sorrows heal. Yet again we hope to meet three, When the day of life is fled When in heaven in joy to greet thee Where no farewell tears is shed. The funreal (sic) services were held from the home Sunday. Interment was in the Baptist cemetery. CARDS OF THANKS We desire in this way to thank all of the kind friends and neighbors whose sympathy and aid have been so valuable to us in the loss of our father, also for the beautiful floral tributes.
