Interment was in Glasco Cemetery. Carl Ludwig Frederick Tobald was born September 8, 1853 at Lintz, Pommen, Germany, and died at his home in Glasco, Jan. 12, 1922 at 7 P. M. aged 68 years, 4 months and 4 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and grew up in that faith. He was united in marriage to Anna Wisinsci, December 30, 1877. They resided in Berlin until March, 1884, when they immigrated to the United States, arriving in Glasco April 16. They lived in Glasco about five years and in 1889 bought a farm 7 miles north west of Glasco and lived there until 1912, when they returned to Glasco and have resided there since. To this union eight children were born, four of whom were born in Germany, two dying in infancy. He is survived by his wife and six children, Herman, Carl, Martha, Lucy and Maggie of the home address and Mrs. Mary Jordan of Minneapolis, Minn. Also seven grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Lena Henning and Mrs. Bertha Windhorst of Glasco and one brother in Germany. He united with St. Paul's Lutheran church in 1884 and served on the church council since 1902. He was a regular attendant and faithful in his duty to his church. He served his master until the end, which he awaited in the hope of his Savior.
