Mary Ida Tobald Jordan was born September 6th, 1881 in Berlin, Germany. She came to the United States with her parents Fred and Anna Tobald in April 1884. The family came directly to Glasco, Kansas. She was the eldest daughter and was preceeded in death by her father, mother, twin sister and two brothers. She was called into God's eternal care at the hospital in Sheldon, Iowa on Saturday, November 29th, 1947, at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 21 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended services of worship in that faith. She is survived by one son, Rexford Pruner and two grandsons of Bladen, Nebraska. Also surviving are one brother Carl Tobald, and three sisters; Martha Kimerling, Lucy Rinehart and Maggie Tobald all of Glasco. She leaves fond memories of a devoted mother. Her industry was noted to her final hours of strength. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Glasco, Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 4, at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Eugene Smith. Singers were Ota Studt, and Laura Olson, accompanied by Anna Olson. Pallbearers were Carroll Kimmerling, Robert Tobald, Leo Tobald, Richard Pavlick, Fred Studt, and Henry Windhorst. Flower bearers were Alice Horn, Nelle Pilcher and Alma Grau. Interment was in the family plot in Glasco Cemetery with Griffith Funeral Home in charge.
