Description	:	Carl Oscar Holms, son of Charles and Sophia Holms, was born Nov. 24, 1876 near Yorktown, Ia., and passed away Febr. 9, 1956 at his home near Nora, Nebr., at the age of 79 years, two months and 16 days. He grew to manhood in Iowa and was married to Lulu Haidsaik Febr. 4, 1903 at the home of his bride's parents near Bedford, Ia. They came to Nuckolls county (sic) in 1905, residing near Abdal, later moving near Cadams, where they were charter members of the First Presbyterian church (sic). In 1913, they moved to a farm near Edgar. Then, in 1920, they moved near Nelson and united with the First Presbyterian Church in Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Holms celebrated their 42rd wedding anniversary just last week. Mr. Holms has been in poor health for the last ten years and has been faithfully cared for throughout by his wife. To this union five children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Holms is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mable Potts of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mary Newhouse of Wichita, Kan.; Ruby Keith of Nora; one son, Charles of Nelson; ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Josie Winger of Yorktown, Ia.; Anna Haidsiak of Blockton, Ia.; one brother, Gus Holms of Clarinda, Ia.; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church (sic) here Saturday with the Rev. J. Henry Warren officiating.
