She passed away Saturday, December 8, 2001, in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years. She attended Grand Prairie School north of Nelson, Nebraska. (Haidsiak) Holms, was born May 26, 1912, at rural Cadams, Nebraska. She passed away Saturday, December 8, 2001, in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years. She attended Grand Prairie School north of Nelson, Nebraska. December 16, 1931, at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Nelson, Ruby was married to Walter James Keith. They lived on a farm near Nora until 1988 when they moved to Nelson. James died on October 12, 1991. At the time of her death Ruby was a resident of the Nelson Good Samaritan Center. Ruby was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ and several community clubs. She loved to play cards with friends and enjoyed her garden and flowers. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband James; two sisters, Mable Potts and Mary Newhouse; and one brother, Charles F. Holms. Survivors include two sons, Carl D. Keith and his wife Lyla of Wichita, Kansas, and Charles L. Keith and his wife Elsie of Montgomery, Alabama; five grandchildren, Gregory, Steven, Timothy, Brannon and Leah Keith; and five great grandchildren, Sarah, Dean, Michael, Lauren and Lindsey Keith. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at 1 p.m., at the Community United Church of Christ in Nelson with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sturdy officiating. Amy Keith was soloist with Donna Cox as organist. Burial was in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers were Timothy Keith, Gregory Keith, Steven Keith, Dwight Keith, Dr. Burton Thomsen and James Newhouse. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may go to the Nelson Community United Church of Christ or the Nelson Good Samaritan Center.
