Description	:	Carl Peter Anderson, eldest son of Carl J. and Mina (Carlson) Anderson, was born in Norkaping, Sweden, October 9, 1881, and passed away at the University hospital of Omaha, August 22, 1939, at the age of 57 years, 10 months and 13 days. At the age of five years Carl came with his parents to America, spending the winter at Axtell, Nebr., and then moving to a homestead near Akron, Colorado. Read More	Carl Peter Anderson, eldest son of Carl J. and Mina (Carlson) Anderson, was born in Norkaping, Sweden, October 9, 1881, and passed away at the University hospital of Omaha, August 22, 1939, at the age of 57 years, 10 months and 13 days. At the age of five years Carl came with his parents to America, spending the winter at Axtell, Nebr., and then moving to a homestead near Akron, Colorado. After a few years residence at Akron, and at Linscott, Nebraska, the Anderson family established a home in Mason City in the spring of 1882. Here Carl grew to manhood, completed his elementary education in the local public schools, and was graduated from the Mason City high school in the class of 1901. Following his graduation the deceased worked on the railroad, and was engaged in carpentry work for a number of years. His next move was to Alliance, where he was employed by the C. B. and Q. railroad. At Alliance on March 20, 1910 was solemnized the marriage to Miss Mary Stephenson, a successful Custer County teacher, who had for some years been employed in the Mason City schools. The young married couple began their married life in Alliance, which was the family home for a number of years. To this union were born three sons and two daughters. Later the family lived on a farm near Ansley, and in April 1933 he returned to Mason City to assist his brother in the operation of his store, a position he was holding at the time of his death. In his early years, the deceased was converted and united with the Baptist church of Mason City. In personal life, Carl Anderson was a man of integrity and charm. He had a friendly way about him that inspired confidence, and he possessed those qualities which retained friendships. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and devoted his life to the welfare of his family. He leaves to mourn his passing his faithful wife, Amy; three sons, Bernard of Loup City and Clifford and Donald of Mason City; one daughter, Lois at home. The departed is also survived by five brothers; Emil of Chadron, George J. of Mason City, Dr. Edward P. of Oaks, N. D., Richard, of Lincoln, and Alfred of Hastings; six sisters, Mrs. Edith Iverson, Lincoln, Mrs. Eula Terhune, Craig, Mo., Mrs. Alice Schmidt, David City, Mrs. Elsie Anderson, of Kenesaw, Mrs. Helen Armstrong of Kenesaw, Mrs. Ruth Gardner, Lexington, his foster mother, Mrs. C. J. Anderson of Kearney, Nebr., numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one daughter. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church, Friday afternoon with Rev. Raymond HIll officiating. Burial was made in the Mason City cemetery.
