Funeral services for Carl Jessen were held Saturday afternoon at the Dannebrog Lutheran Church, conducted by Eugene Wekander. Interment at Oak Ridge cemetery with Jacobsen Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Mr. Jessen was born in Denmark, August 31, 1884 to Peter and Pauline Jessen. He came to America with his parents, sister and brothers and settled in Grand Island in 1888. Carl was united in marriage to Camilla Pedersen Sept, 30, 1908 at Dannebrog. They had one daughter, Mildred, Mrs. Thorvald Christensen He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith in Denmark. Surviving are his wife Camilla, his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thorwald Christensen, two grandchildren Donna Jean and Ronald Lee Christensen, four brothers, Andrew of Sioux City, IA; Chris of Grand Island, Paul of California and Martin of Wheatland, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. Pallbears at the funeral were Stanley Pedersen, Dale Lemburg, Henry Hansen, L. Kolar, Stanley Pedersen, and Peter Christiansen.
