He was born August 30, 1928 at Holton, the son of Carl and Ethel Wanner Wallisch. He graduated from Holton High School in 1946. Read More	Carl Roby Wallisch (August 30, 1928 - January 6, 2009) HOLTON – Carl Roby Wallisch, 80, of Holton, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born August 30, 1928 at Holton, the son of Carl and Ethel Wanner Wallisch. He graduated from Holton High School in 1946. He attended Kansas University, cosmetology school in Denver, and the Williams Institute of Embalming in Kansas City. Over the years Carl took many continuing education classes to stay abreast of changes in the insurance industry. He retired from Bankers Life & Casualty Insurance. Carl was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton, Holton Knights of Columbus Council No. 4219, Holton Rotary Club, Jackson County Tourism Council, Jackson County Historical Society, and the Master Gardener Club in Topeka. He served on the board of the Holton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Jackson County Development Corporation and the Holton Planning Commission. He married Phyllis L. Riley on August 4, 1950 at Holton. She died January 22, 2008. Survivors include three daughters, Denise Sanders Saper and husband John, Leawood, Kate Clinkenbeard, Franklin, N.C., and Kristi Worrel and husband Pat, Holton; and eight grandchildren, Blake Sanders, Caleb Clinkenbeard, Dylan Clinkenbeard, Ian Clinkenbeard, Ann Marie Worrel, Nichole Worrel, Heather Worrel & Jordan Worrel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Holton. Carl will lie in state at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton where a Parish Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, followed by visitation. Memorials are suggested to U.S.D. No. 336 Holton High School Football Program or the Alzheimer's Association, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 1034, Holton, 66436.
