Life Sketch Carl Victor Aspengren, oldest child of Charles and Augusta Aspengren, was born Oct. 6, 1890, in Falun, Sweden. At the age of three years he came to America with the family and to Boone County where he lived all his life. On May 28, 1912, he was united in holy matrimony to Esther Olson of Boone. To this union three daughters were born, all of whom survive their father. They are: Mrs. Helen Low of Independence, Mrs. Opal Bushmiller of Jefferson, Iowa, and Mrs. Ruth Crouse of Boone. His wife, Esther, passed away December 12, 1920. On December 31, 1921, he was united in marriage to Lorena Koppenhaver and to this union eight children were born, namely; Virginia, who passed away at the age of five years; Carl Jr., Rose Marie, Velma, Melvin, Arthur, Victoria and Myra. After a brief illness he passed away Jan. 1, 1948, at the Boone County Hospital, at the age of 57 years, two months and 26 days. Besides his wife and children already mentioned, he is survived by his aged father, Charles Aspengren; three brothers, Oscar of California, Edwin of Des Moines and Albin of Boone; and one sister, Mrs. Marie Ferguson of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Junior Bushmiller and Shirley Crouse; besides many other relatives and friends.
