Mr. Siebler, a business man for more than 40 years took pride in his profession, and had many customers who had been with him through the entire period. About two years ago he appeared on "Welcome Traveler" program in Chicago, holding the distinction of being the eldest blacksmith in the country. The Sieblers greatly enjoyed this experience and the vacation in Wisconsin, which was part of the gift, for this honor. C. William Siebler was born in Nottigen, amt Pforzheim, Baden, Germany, on Febr. 11, 1868. He passed away at his home in Aurora, Nebraska on Nov. 30, 1954 at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 19 days. On his birthday in 1887, at the age of 19 years, he left his home in Germany and came to America. Before coming to America, he served an apprenticeship in blacksmithing. He took great pride in his work and was able to continue in it until a few years ago. He was united in marriage to Miss Magdalena Moog on September 28, 1892 at Columbus, Nebr. Twelve children were born to them. Mrs. Siebler passed away on March 20, 1909. On March 25, 1910, he was married to Miss Hattie Hyatt. to them six children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Siebler lived in Cornelia (sic), Nebr. until August 30, 1912 when they moved to the present home in Aurora, Nebr.He was preceded in death by one daughter, Emma; two sons, George and Albert; his father and mother, two brothers, who lost their lives in world War I, and three sisters. His passing is mourned by his wife, seven daughters, eight sons, a sister and a brother, in Germany (names omitted), 38 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
