On Jan. 31, 1939, she married Everett Goodban in York. He preceded her in death. Read More	Mildred V. (Siebler) Goodban, 93, of York died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at her home. Mildred was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Aurora to William and Hattie (Hyatt) Siebler. On Jan. 31, 1939, she married Everett Goodban in York. He preceded her in death. Survivors are: sons, Richard and his wife, Ursula, of Lincoln and Roger and his wife, Nancy, of Kearney; daughters, Marilyn and partner Sharilyn of Wynnewood, Okla., and Charlene Henninger of Lincoln; grandchildren, Mark, Kevin and wife Jenny Goodban, Heather Anne Goodban, Charlie and Travis Henninger, Jenny Goodban, and Kristy Kusek and her husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Megan and Kelsey Goodban and Dillon and Joseph Kusek; sister-in-law, Gay Anne Siebler; many loving nieces and nephews, including niece Irene Hurt of Kearney; and special friend, Clifford Hulse and a host of relativees and friends. Her father, Mr. Siebler, commenting on his 16th child, told the newspapers they were calling this one "quit"; however, she had two younger brothers. As an active homemaker, Millie was resourceful in providing good meals and stylish clothes for her family. Her gardens were bountiful and beautiful. Her tailoring skills won prizes at the county fair. In the late 1950s, she was the Lincoln Journal and Star paper agent in York. Mildred bowled on a league, played cards with her husband and friends, danced and traveled great distances for extended family celebrations where she was known for her sense of humor. Millie walked everywhere in town, enjoying the beauty of gardens and homes. Known by some as the Daffodil Lady, she was an enthusiastic fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Several years, her team came in first at the Relay For Life. A choir member, chairman of the board and elder of First Christian Church, Mildred could be counted on in times of sickness and sorrow as well as birthdays and weddings. She baked pies and bread for friends and neighbors to cheer their spirits and heal their bodies. In 1999, the town of York honored her as the Yorkfest Queen. She believed she served with the best King, Dr. Wempe. Mildred was a member of First Christian Church, Chapter HH PEO and the York Country Club. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and seven sisters. Published in the Kearney Hub on 11/10/2010
