He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Corkum of this place, who survive him. Read More	Carmen Corkum Newburne, Dec. 25 - Christmas celebration in this community was saddened by the sudden death of Carmen Corkum, at his home here on Christmas Eve, after a short illness of three days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Corkum of this place, who survive him. Besides his sorrowing parents, he leaves to mourn five sisters, (Eva) Mrs. Herbert Barkhouse, Greta, Daisy, Isabelle and Olive; three brothers, Donald, Ellis and Arlie; also a host of friends and relatives. The passing of Carmen at the early age of fifteen, will touch the lives of all who knew him with real sorrow. The funeral service was conducted at the home on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. B.G. Smith officiating, and was attended by a large number of friends. Interment was made in the family lot in the Lutheran cemetery. Pall bearers were his uncles, Naaman Corkum, Enos Corkum, Doran Corkum and his brother-in-law, Herbert Barkhouse.
