Carol Ann Navara was born on January 2, 1944, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse and Anna Belle (Holcomb) Brown. She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District, where she graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1962. On June 7, 1964, Carol married Ron Navara. They happily nested in Marshalltown for 55 years. Carol worked at KIOWA for several years before staying home to raise her children. After, Ronnie retired, she went back to work at the Marshalltown Community School District as a para professional at Fisher Elementary School and Miller Middle School. She loved to go antiquing and going to auctions and garage sales. She and Ronnie enjoyed going trout fishing, long car rides, and gardening. Carol was a fabulous, loving grandma to her four grandsons. She always encouraged her boys to be little rascals. Carol adored her dogs. She is happily reunited with Ronnie and their fur kids. Ron and Carol enjoyed more than 54 years of marriage until Ron's passing on February 26, 2019. Surviving are her children, Teresa (Rick) Lang and Warren (Tina) Navara; four grandsons, Nick, and Sam Lang, and Jacob and Justin Navara; her sister, Marcia McCubbin; and many nephews and nieces.
