He was born in Brumley, Missouri, on April 14, 1920, the son of H. Joseph and Louverta Robbinett Brown. He married Anna Belle Holcomb on November 16, 1940, in Moberly, Missouri. Four children survive, Jerry (Charlene) Brown of State Center, Carol (Ron) Navara of Marshalltown, Joe Brown of Pittsburg, Missouri, and Marcia McCubbin of Marshalltown. There are also 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren surviving. In addition there are four sisters who survive, Lola Ruby of Greenfield, Lucille (Don) Buffington of Laurel, Alice Vodochodsky of Merritt Island, Florida, and Nancy Robinson of Marshalltown. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Anna Belle in February 2002; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Perry, Sherm, Bob, and Lawnie. Reared and educated in Missouri until he was nine years old, when they moved to this area, where he attended the Van Cleve schools. He worked at Lennox Industries and then at Fisher Controls where he worked until retirement in 1978. He was a Tool Maker at Fishers. After retirement he enjoyed his family and his big garden. Mr. Brown was a member of the UAW 893 retirees and former member of the Marshall County Gun Club.
