She attended Bellevue schools through the 6th grade and then moved to Maquoketa where she was a 1963 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School. She married Bob McCrady on September 10, 1966 in Maquoketa, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Brian and Bruce. Carol had worked various jobs through the years including working for Asher Schroeder, Walter McCarthy Law Office, Eastern Iowa Service Bureau Collection Agency, State Farm Office for eight years as an office manager, Jackson County Public Hospital office for four years, Crist Builders as a bookkeeper, Accent Service Company in Davenport for eight years, and lastly retiring from Generac. She had also worked part-time selling Avon for 18 years. Carol was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa and the St. Anne's Circle where she had been the past president. She also was an Avon team leader, and had served on the Property Maintenance Board for the City of Maquoketa. Carol liked cross stitch, painting ceramics, sewing, baking, visiting with friends, and her K.J.'s group. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Darlene Fier.
