Visitation for Carol will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. There will be no funeral service. Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Carol Anne Mincer was born on December 2, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Joe Earl and Betty Grace (Dickinson) Mincer. Carol was a 1965 graduate of Lone Tree High School. On June 15, 1968, Carol was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Charles Swails at the Grace United Church of Christ in Lone Tree. Together they had one son, John Raymond Swails. Bob passed in a farming accident in November of 1976. A lifelong resident of Lone Tree, Carol took great pride in caring for the Lone Tree Schools over the past two decades. It was not uncommon for the school to receive compliments on the cleanliness of the school from other districts. Carol has a green thumb and was content caring for the numerous flower beds surrounding East Side Village, the Lone Tree City Parks, and the school grounds. Carol continued to work part-time with the Lone Tree schools until December of 2013.
