Joe served with the United States Navy from November 13, 1940 to August 20, 1948 during World War II. He was A Gunner's Mate Second. Joseph Earl Mincer was born March 27, 1918 in rural Riverside, the son of Frank and Amelia (Dvorak) Mincer. Joe served with the United States Navy from November 13, 1940 to August 20, 1948 during World War II. He was A Gunner's Mate Second. On January 27, 1945 he was united in marriage to Betty Grace Dickinson in London, England. In earlier years he worked for the railroad in California and afterward owned and operated Joe Mincer Trucking in Lone Tree. Following his trucking career he farmed and then worked for the City of Lone Tree as the maintenance supervisor. Joe especially enjoyed over one hundred trips to Elko, Nevada. He was a member of the Riverside VFW #6414 and American Legion Post 457. Joe was affiliated with the Methodist Church. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Carol Swailes of Lone Tree; one brother, Frank Mincer and his wife, Faithe of Riverside; two sisters, Hester Larew of Lone Tree and Wilma Wasson of Columbus City; one grandson, John Swailes and his wife, Peggy of Lone Tree; four great grandchildren, Mariah, Dawson, J. Drake and Marisa and many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters, Nora Marie, Ethel Collins, Evelyn Britton, Leona Wilkerson and son-in-law, Robert Swailes.
