He was born November 4, 1933, in Davis County to Stewart V. and Marie Fitzgerald Christy. He married Marvel Morrison on August 18, 1955, in Ottumwa. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Read More	GENE CHRISTY Bloomfield -- Carol Eugene Christy, 60, of Bloomfield died July 28, 1994, at VA Hospital in Knoxville. He was born November 4, 1933, in Davis County to Stewart V. and Marie Fitzgerald Christy. He married Marvel Morrison on August 18, 1955, in Ottumwa. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. A resident of Bloomfield all of his lifetime, he was employed at John Morrell and Co. for 23 years, was a sargeant for the Bloomfield Police Force for 8 1/2 years, and had worked at Iowa Ammunition Plant. He attended the Baptist Church in Bloomfield, was a member of Franklin Lodge No. 14 AF&AM in Bloomfield and was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 775 in Ottumwa. He is survived by his wife; a son, William Vance of Bloomfield; three daughters, Debra Jean Christy, Teresa Ann Crady, and Charlotte Lynn Teubel, all of Bloomfield; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. The service will be 2:30pm Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
