She was born Sept. 13, in Davis County to Harry Peterson and Charlotte Sarah Simmons Fitzgerald. She married Stewart Vance Christy on Jan. 3, 1930, in Ottumwa. He died Feb. 21, 1985. She was a homemaker and member of Bloomfield Christian Church. She is survived by a son, Carol Eugene Christy of Bloomfield; four grandchildren; five great grand children; a brother, Robert Fitzgerald of Davenport and a sister, Wilma Hancock of Bloomfield. She wa preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl. The service will be 1pm Saturday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the Rev. Richard Friend officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. The casket will be closed at begining of service. Visitation is open at the funeral home. Memorials may be to the Iowa Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
