Dodge in Afton. Cheryl Whittington will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com. Carol Lavon Wise was born May 14, 1937 in Afton, Ia. to Doris Irene (Landers) Huntsman and Nolen Huntsman. She graduated from Thayer High School in 1955 and attended trade school in Omaha. On October 22, 1957 Carol was united in marriage to Billy Joe Bunker in Thayer. Carol was a homemaker, living various locations before settling in Creston in 1967. She and Billy later divorced. While a homemaker she nurtured her talents in the arts and sewed clothing commercially for Matel Barbie Dolls. On May 14, 1980, Carol was united in marriage to George Wise in Creston. They lived in Essex, Ia. and Sedalia, Mo. where she worked in a bakery and dress shop. Carol also worked as an elder care worker for the elderly in their homes. After her divorce from George, she returned to Creston in 1987 and returned to SWCC and earned her Associate of Arts Degree in 1997. She worked at Easters, Walmart, Matura and worked as a seamstress at Winnebago in Lorimor. Carol loved to dance and sing at the Chicken Inn in Creston, plant a garden every year, shop and spend time with her family. She was always on the go and very determined in everything she did. She is survived by her Special Friend Olin Strait of Corning; a son, Mark Bunker of Creston; her daughter, Melanie (husband Michael) Johnson of Creston; one step-daughter, Debbie Lynn Dodd of Aurelia, Ia.; three sisters, Nola (husband Earl) Vorrath of Casey, Ia., Bonnie Perdue (significant other Terry McDowell) of Winterset and Patty Rollings of Shannon City, Ia.; brother-in-law Mike Rollings of Arispe; three grandchildren, Chauncey, Brandon and Brittany Bunker; five step-grandchildren, Mary Lynn, Laura and Elijah Johnson, Melinda Gunville and Aaron Dodd and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Susanna Bunker, a sister Donna Donner and her first husband Joe Bunker.
