Description	:	Carol Mae Hammann, 102, of Bella Vista, AR. died February 18, 2013 at Highlands Health Care. Carol was born June 14, 1910 in Lemon, South Dakota to Eva and William Webb. Carol graduated from Geraldine High School, Geraldine MT in 1928. She attended St Olaf College in Northfield, MN where she studied Music for one year. . Carol married Russell (Rusty) Slowey October 5, 1929. They lived a short time in Texas after their marriage, returning to Geraldine, MT where they raised their two girls and owned/operated Rusty's Bar and Slowey's General Store. Carol was born June 14, 1910 in Lemon, South Dakota to Eva and William Webb. Carol graduated from Geraldine High School, Geraldine MT in 1928. She attended St Olaf College in Northfield, MN where she studied Music for one year. . Carol married Russell (Rusty) Slowey October 5, 1929. They lived a short time in Texas after their marriage, returning to Geraldine, MT where they raised their two girls and owned/operated Rusty's Bar and Slowey's General Store. After Rusty's death in 1962 Carol lived in various states with her daughters and with her Aunt in Owatonna, MN where she met and married Elmer Hammann in 1977. Carol suffered a severe stroke in 1977, leaving her paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak. Carol made her home with her daughters after her stroke until November 2006 when she entered the Highlands Health Care facility. Carol was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell Slowey and Elmer Hammann, her parents Eva and William Webb, 3 sisters Zella Patterson, Joyce Dunham and Evelyn Berry, a son-in-law Michael Holland and a great granddaughter Khaile Shmaltz (Kurth). Survivors include her daughters Rita (Lloyd) Kurth of Seeley Lake, MT, Donna Holland of Bella Vista, AR; three grandsons: Gary Kurth (Patty) Midlothian, VA,, Jeffrey (Paola) Kurth San Antonio, TX, Casey (Mary Lynn) Kurth of Boise, ID, 6 great grandchildren , 1 great-great grandson and 2 nephews Robert Patterson (Betty) of Denton, MT and William Patterson of Gt. Falls, MT. Memorial services are pending. Internment will be at the Geraldine Cemetery, Geraldine, MT. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
