Description	:	Carolee Flynn, 65, of Clarksville, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville, from complications of cancer. Carolee was born on June 13, 1935, in Mason City, the daughter of Beryl and Mildred (Amick) Martin. She attended and graduated from the Clarskville High School in 1953. On November 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to Duane Flynn at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple resided in Waverly, where she worked for Lutheran Mutual. Carolee was born on June 13, 1935, in Mason City, the daughter of Beryl and Mildred (Amick) Martin. She attended and graduated from the Clarskville High School in 1953. On November 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to Duane Flynn at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple resided in Waverly, where she worked for Lutheran Mutual. In 1961, the couple moved to Moorehead, Minnesota for a short time until returning to Waverly. During this time, Carolee worked at the State Bank of Waverly until 1976. In 1976, the couple moved to Cedar Falls, and she worked at Waterloo Savings Bank and Shakey's Pizza. In 1994, Carolee and Duane moved to Clarksville, where she had been employed at the Buy-Low Convenience Store. Carolee was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Waverly, where she had served as Worthy Matron. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville. She loved camping, was an avid animal and bird lover, and also enjoyed taping movies with her VCR's. Carolee is survived by her husband, Duane of Clarksville; one son, Doug Flynn of Nashua; two grandchildren: Melissa Flynn of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Justin Flynn of Marion, Iowa; and her father, Beryl Martin of Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Martin; one brother, James Martin; and a sister in infancy. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville with Rev. David Walters officiating. Memorials may be directed to the church or to the Cedar Bend Humane Society. Burial was in the Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Find A Grave contributor James Tomlinson
