Description	:	Carolina “Cordula” Klemm, daughter of Gottlieb and Emma (Krone) Tesch was born April 14, 1919 in Roberts County, South Dakota. She was raised on the family farm 7 miles south of Lidgerwood, North Dakota in Deere County, with two younger brothers and two younger sisters. Cordula had fond memories of herding cattle with her favorite horse, Pat and herding dog, Jeff. Her neighbors were very jealous of her beloved Jeff. Read More	Carolina “Cordula” Klemm, daughter of Gottlieb and Emma (Krone) Tesch was born April 14, 1919 in Roberts County, South Dakota. She was raised on the family farm 7 miles south of Lidgerwood, North Dakota in Deere County, with two younger brothers and two younger sisters. Cordula had fond memories of herding cattle with her favorite horse, Pat and herding dog, Jeff. Her neighbors were very jealous of her beloved Jeff. In 1939, she traveled to Palo Alto, California to live with Dr. Smith, a Stanford University Professor, and his family as a nanny-maid. One year later she returned to Lidgerwood for a short time and then in 1941, traveled to Hackensack, New Jersey, as a nanny-maid for Dr. Meyer and his family. While on the East Coast, she saw the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at Times Square, along with many other sites. After returning from New Jersey, Cordula lived with Dr. Marie Hanson in Toronto, SD for three and a half years. It was at a dance in Toronto where she met her first husband, Albert William Voss. As a joke, Albert let Cordula’s dog, Brownie, into the dance and their love blossomed from then on. They married on November 7, 1946 in Lidgerwood, ND. They lived in Brandt, SD for a short time and then moved their house to Clear Lake, SD. They were blessed with three children. Albert sadly passed away on February 24, 1971. On October 27, 1973, Cordula married Robert Klemm in Clear Lake, SD. They made their home in Clear Lake. Robert recently passed away on May 16, 2016. Cordula was legendary for her beautiful braided rugs which adorn hundreds of homes of family and friends in all parts of the country. She was braiding well into her 90’s. Her dream when her children were young was to send them to the Northwestern Lutheran Academy. Her determination led her to have five different jobs at the same time. Her children are so thankful for the sacrifices she made. She was very active in her church and community. Serving her Lord and Savior was always her priority. She enjoyed singing in choir, attending and serving in Ladies Aid, Treadlers, Cradle Call, Hospital Auxiliary, Good Samaritan Auxiliary and volunteering many hours at the GSI Thrift Store in Watertown, SD. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Elise (Tim) Schilling, Lou (Lee) Heier and Marty (Sharon) Voss, all of Clear Lake, SD; grandchildren: Patricia Matejek, Omaha, NE, Tammy (Mike) Tisdall, Gretna, NE, Nancy (Jamie) Langerock, Aberdeen, SD, Lisa Heier, Gettysburg, SD, Laura (Adam) Smith, Cincinnati, OH; Brian (Jennifer) Matejek, Watertown, SD, Cairl Matejek, Aberdeen, SD and Garrett (Emily) Voss, Clear Lake, SD; great-grandchildren: Kayla Matejek, Allyona Doyen, Shantel Matejek, Olivia Langerock, Lily Voss, Morgan Voss, Myla Voss, Scarlett Smith, Braden Matejek, Austin Doyen, Skyler Matejek, Colton Matejek, Connor Voss, Alex Langerock and Owen Langerock; one great great-granddaughter, Lily Matejek; one sister, Maida Eldevick, Moorhead, MN and many nieces and nephews. Cordula was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Voss and Robert Klemm; parents; two brothers and one sister. - Houseman Funeral Home
