H., is the daughter of Jeremiah and Caroline (Basford) Sanborn. Jeremiah was born in Canterbury, N.H. and Caroline B. in Durham, N. H. >Source unknown. Mrs. C. A. S. Hughes. The funeral of Mrs. C.A.S. Hughes, widow of the late T. N. Hughes, who passed away after a short illness Friday May 7, at her home on Pleasant Street, was held at the F. B. Church Monday May 10 at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. N. A. Avery. Singing was by a mixed quartet. There were many beautiful flowers. Mrs. Hughes was born in Holderness April 19, 1833, daughter of Jeremiah and Caroline Basford Sanborn. She taught school for several years in the surrounding towns before her marriage. She was a faithful worker of the Free Baptist Church, one of its oldest members, and was always a regular attendant as long as health permitted. For two or three years she has not been able to attend services, but had always kept up her interest in its welfare, and helped in whatever way she could. She will be greatly missed by her many friends, as they always found a welcome in her home. It may well be said, a true Christian woman has gone to her reward. She is survived by a brother, Jason B. Sanborn of Melrose, Mass. and several nieces and nephews to mourn their loss. >The Ashland Citizen, May 23, 1915.
