CAROLINE TIMM DIES Mrs. Caroline Timm, nee Ehrke, was born at Kowalz, Mecklenburg, Germany, July 11, 1850. Here she received her instruction in Christian doctrine and made confession of her faith on confirmation day. To the promise of her Master she has ever remained faithful. At the age of 21 she joined in marriage in the town of her birth John Timm. This marriage as an ideal one; not only were they of one mind in their labors, but the fear of the Lord ruled the hearts of both. In 1872, the year following their marriage in Germany, they left their native land and came to America because of the greater opportunities our blessed land offers to the industrious-a fact that was well realized by them and for which they ever felt grateful. For a number of years they made their home in Muscatine, Iowa, until 1878, when they came to Lincoln township, south of Victor. Here they labored and established a permanent home for themselves and their children. In 1920 circumstances and age compelled them to retire and their remaining years were spent here in Victor. About four years ago her husband, John Timm, died. During the remaining months of her life, her health failed rapidly and every coming day bore the message of death being near. Trusting in the promises of her Lord, she never lost hope but regarded it a deliverance and the gate into life eternal. Her prayers and wish for this happy departure were answered on Tuesday, Feb. 22, when as the result of some arterial rupture death closed her eyes. The age she had reached is 76 years, 5 months and 11 days. Those surviving her are her four sons: Ernest, Henry, Carl and Otto; three daughters: Mrs. Eliza Weiss, Mrs. Charles Schultz and Mrs. H. W. Schultz; 30 grand and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m., from St. James Lutheran church, with interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The sermon was from the text of comfort, Heb. 11:16: "But now they desire a better country, that is, heavenly."
