TIMM Aged Resident of Victor Passes Away Sunday, Feb. 11 John Joachim Timm, one of the most highly respected citizens of Victor, passed away Sunday noon at his home in this city after an illness of several weeks. He attained the advanced age of 81 years and 6 months. It was in the German fatherland, in the village of Vilz, Mecklenburg, that he first saw the light of the world on Aug. 11, 1841. There he also spent his childhood and youth. In early manhood he took part as a solider for Germany in the France-Prussian war. In October 1871, he entered into the bonds of matrimony with Miss Caroline Ehreke, a happy union, which now his death has broken, as his wife survives him. One year of their married life Mr. and Mrs. Timm lived in Kowaltz, Mecklenburg. In 1872 they came to America and lived for six years at Muscatine, Iowa, until the year 1878, when they came to Iowa county, settling in Lincoln Township, where they lived until they retired from the farm to spend their remaining days in Victor, moving to Victor in the spring of 1920. Mr. Timm was one of the early supporters of the St. John's Lutheran church of Lincoln township, being an active member of this church for 48 years. He was a regular attendant at the church services and worked zealously for the upbuilding of the Lord's kingdom. Those surviving him are his widow, Mrs. John J. Timm; two brothers, John and Henry Timm; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Boehl and Mrs. Sophia Lamprecht of Muscatine. Iowa. Of the eight children which have come from this union one died in early youth, the seven now living being Ernest Timm, Mrs. Elizabeth Weiss, Mrs. Chas. Schultz, Henry Timm, Mrs. H. W. Schultz, Carl Timm and Otto Timm, all living south and east of Victor. There are 30 grand children and 5 great grand children besides a host of relatives and friends. Mr. Timm was fine example of the old German stock, honest, industrious, capable and whose word was as good as his bond. While a resident of his native country he gave to her the full measure of his duty, but after taking up his residence in America his loyalty to his adopted country was never wavering or stinted. Funeral services were conducted at St. James Lutheran church by Rev. Wm. F. Ullerich Tuesday afternoon and interment made in I.O.O.F. cemetery. The pall bearers were his four sons and two sons-in-law.
