EGE Mrs. Frank Ege Died Suddenly at Home Near Spalding. The sudden death of Mrs. Frank Ege on last Sunday morning at her home was a shock and a great surprise to all. Mrs. Ege had been ailing for the past two months, but at no time was she bed fast and nothing serious was imagined. Sunday morning the family arose as usual and were preparing to come to Spalding to attend early mass. Mary went to her mother's room and the latter complained of a headache and of not feeling well. Mary at once went to prepare a little stimulant and when she returned her mother was apparently asleep, but on trying to awaken her to give her what she had prepared she was horrified to find her mother dead. Mrs. Ege had been up the day previous attending to her household duties as was her custom, and no doubt her sudden death was caused by heart failure. Deceased was a kind mother and a good wife and was highly respected by all who knew her. She was a good Christian woman, always faithful to her every trust and duty and her sudden demise has left a sorrowful home. Caroline Litty was born in Baden, Germany, 68 years ago last January. She was married in 1871 to Frank Ege in Iowa City, Iowa. Five children were born to this union, four of whom survive, Anna, Mary, Frank and Fred. Fred and Anna live at David City and Frank in Ericson. All were in attendance at the funeral. There are also three grand-children, three sisters, two brothers and numerous other relatives, besides the kind husband, to mourn her death. The funeral was held Tuesday morning from St. Michael's church in Spalding, Frs. Galvin, Raphael and Mathews officiating at Requiem High Mass. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.
