Description	:	Caroline (Jurgensen) Grell (1882 - 1978) Caroline Grell was born on October 11, 1882, at Clinton County, Iowa, the daughter of Edlef and Margaret Jurgensen. She died on April 8, 1978, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Denison, Iowa, at the age of 96. As a young child, Caroline moved with her family to Hanover Township, Crawford County, Iowa where she was raised and educated. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Read More	Caroline (Jurgensen) Grell (1882 - 1978) Caroline Grell was born on October 11, 1882, at Clinton County, Iowa, the daughter of Edlef and Margaret Jurgensen. She died on April 8, 1978, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Denison, Iowa, at the age of 96. As a young child, Caroline moved with her family to Hanover Township, Crawford County, Iowa where she was raised and educated. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith. On February 21, 1905, she was united in marriage to Carl Grell at Charter Oak, Iowa. They made their first home on a farm near Schleswig. Later they lived south of Ricketts until 1913 when they moved to Ricketts. In Rickets they operated a meat market and grocery until 1955 when they retired. Carl , passed away in 1961 and Caroline continued to live in Ricketts until 1972 when she moved to Eventide in Denison. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and a member of its Ladies Aid and a member of the Eventide Auxiliary. In addition to her parents and her husband, Caroline was preceded in death by one son, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include, one daughter, Mrs. Mina Moeller of Walnut, California and one son Albert of Ricketts. Also by eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 11, 1978, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Ricketts, Iowa. Burial was in Crawford Heights at Denison. The Rev. Dale Werling officiated at the services. Pallbearers included Ernie Grell, Leslie Grell, Alfred Grell, Erwin Voss, Earl Hennings and Robert Johannsen.
