Description	:	Caroline Margaretha Berg was born June 21, 1864, in Flansburg, Holstein, Germany. She passed away at the home of her son, Lorenz, June 26, 1943, four days after she had observed her 79th birthday. She was united in marriage to Lorenz C. Berg, June 12, 1885, at Flansburg in Germany. To this union eleven children were born. Hans and Herman who died in infancy; Anna, Flora, Lorenz, Elmer, Lillian, Freda, Hilbert, Albert and Herbert. Read More	Caroline Margaretha Berg was born June 21, 1864, in Flansburg, Holstein, Germany. She passed away at the home of her son, Lorenz, June 26, 1943, four days after she had observed her 79th birthday. She was united in marriage to Lorenz C. Berg, June 12, 1885, at Flansburg in Germany. To this union eleven children were born. Hans and Herman who died in infancy; Anna, Flora, Lorenz, Elmer, Lillian, Freda, Hilbert, Albert and Herbert. Mr. and Mrs. Berg spent the first three years of their married life in Germany where the oldest child Hans, was born. They came to America on June 21, 1888, and settled at Madison, Nebr. Later they lived at Snyder and Humphrey. In 1906 they moved to Boone county where they lived on a farm until Mr. Berg departed this life, Nov. 26, 1934. Since then Mrs. Berg has lived in Albion. Mr. and Mrs. Berg were life long members of the Lutheran church. Mrs. Berg was a good mother, very kind, always thoughtful and faithful to all her friends. She was held in deepest affection and highest esteem by the members of her family. She was calm and brave in all her troubles and waited quietly for the day of her departure. She leaves to mourn her passing, four daughters, Mrs. C. A. Wilbur of Omaha, Mrs. R. L. McIntyre of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Vernon Goodman, St. Edward, and Mrs. Milo Summers of Frankfort, Kan.; five sons, Lorenz C. and Herbert of Albion, Elmer L. and Albert of Portland, Ore., and Herbert W. of Sacramento, Calif., who is serving in the army. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, five of whom are in the armed service, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Zion Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon with Rev. John Beckmann, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery. Out of town relatives who came to attend the services were: Mrs. Claude Wilbur of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Milo Summers, Frankfort, Kan.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Frank Gaston and her daughter Geneva of Kansas City, Mo.; and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Berg of Portland, Ore.
