She graduated from Rudyard Public Schools in 1964, then attended and graduated from cosmetology school in Fargo, North Dakota. Caroline married Kermit Barker on April 14, 1967, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had three daughters: Michelle, Carrie and Cara, and are grandparents to Morgan, Ty, Tate and Brina. Caroline had many talents and hobbies that she pursued throughout her life. Some of them included playing the accordion and piano, cooking, gardening, sketching, cross-stitching, and cutting hair. Caroline worked on her family tree throughout her adult life. One notable piece of information is that she is a direct descendant of the Mayflower passengers and has her ancestry traced to them. She was the keeper of the family history. Caroline died on December 6, 2016, at her home in Laurel, Montana. Caroline's memorial service was held June 5, 2017, at Our Lady of Ranson Catholic Church in Hingham, Montana, and she was buried at the Hingham Union Cemetery in Hingham, Montana. Following her memorial service was a gathering of family and friends at the Rudyard Catholic Youth Center in Rudyard, Montana.
