Read More	Obituary for Carolyn "Cay" Herrald Carolyn “Cay” Munn Herrald Cay Herrald, 80 formally of Boone, Iowa passed away at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE on Sunday, November 26, 2017. She was born on April 1, 1937 in Boone, the daughter of Helen (Condon) and Robert Munn. On April 15, 1968, Cay married Wes Herrald at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel in Boone. They honeymooned on Grand Cayman, B.W.I. and returned there annually for much of their life together. Cay graduated from Boone High School in 1955. She cherished her years playing the violin in the BHS Orchestra under the direction of Konrad Scholl. She traveled with the Orchestra to Athens, GA for clinics and to perform a concert. In 1959, she graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Home Economics. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi. Cay managed her family’s business, Riekenberg’s at 701 Story St. during the 60’s and 70’s. She loved being a part of the Boone downtown business community and going to market. Cay was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, 62-year member of P.E.O., 50-year Lowell Club member and a dedicated Board member of DMACC Foundation-Boone Campus, Pi Beta Phi House Corporation (Ames) and Hawkeye Federal Bank. Her parents, husband and step-son Steven proceed her in death. Survivors include daughter Ann Christiansen (Dennis) of Omaha, NE; step-son Mark Herrald (Vicky) of Chandler, AZ; granddaughter Teri Casey (Mark) of Grimes, IA; grandsons Will Christiansen and Cole Christiansen of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Ruthanne Taylor of Ottumwa, IA, cousins Kathy Manatt of Austin, TX, Meg Manatt of Boone, IA, David TenEyck (Lisa) of Pillager, MN and Mark TenEyck (Laraye) of Maple Plain, MN, and many more beloved family and friends. Following her wishes, she has been cremated. A visitation and memorial service is being planned for the morning of June 16, 2018 in Boone. Details to follow closer to the date. Memorials may be directed to Boone County Hospital Foundation, DMACC Foundation-Boone Campus or First Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund.
