She was the daughter of Harry Krollpfeiffer of Leavenworth and Glenna Shotwell Krollpfeiffer, formerly of Cashmere. Growing up in Leavenworth, Carolyn worked in her father's hardware store. Read More	Carolyn McCauley Weaver, died peacefully at her home on Jan. 16, 2003 in Leavenworth. She was born in Leavenworth on Sept. 17, 1914. She was the daughter of Harry Krollpfeiffer of Leavenworth and Glenna Shotwell Krollpfeiffer, formerly of Cashmere. Growing up in Leavenworth, Carolyn worked in her father's hardware store. She skied at Stevens Pass in the early days when you put ‘skins' on your skis and climbed the hill to get your run down. She was a contemporary of the early Leavenworth skiers who made ski jumping a Leavenworth attraction and she was honored to be "Snow Queen" in the early 1930s. Carolyn graduated from Leavenworth High School and then attended Washington State College and the University of Washington. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She returned home to Leavenworth where she met Hugh McCauley at her father's hardware store one day and the two were married a while later at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Leavenworth on June 28, 1941. The couple moved to Seattle where they raised their three children, Bob, Terry and Laurie. After Hugh retired in 1976, they moved to a summer home they had in Conconully, WA, where Hugh was raised. They lived there until Hugh died in 1989. Carolyn then returned to Leavenworth where she lived the remainder of her life in the town she loved, near son Terry and his family and her many special friends. On Sept. 3, 1997, Carolyn married Dr. William C. Weaver, a retired physician whom she had known while growing up in Leavenworth. The two made their home in Leavenworth until her death. Dr. Bill and his loving family made Carolyn's last years in Leavenworth a joy and a blessing. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bill of the family home; brother Bob Krollpfeiffer and his wife Betty of Coronado, CA; her son Bob and his wife, Barbara of Spokane; son Terry and his wife, Connie of Leavenworth; daughter, Laurie McCauley of Seattle; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Dr. Bill Weaver's children, Barbara and Roger Batty of Kaui, HI; Dr. Michael and Susan Weaver of Pleasant Hill, CA; David and Barbara Weaver of Spokane; Jim and Tamara Weaver of Bend, OR; John and Leslie Weaver of Lafayette, CA; Joanna and Brett Cooper of Paso Robles, CA; Elizabeth and Will Brady of Langlois, OR; and Bill and Marina Weaver of Bend, OR; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A Funeral Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Carolyn McCauley Weaver, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Jan. 25, 2003, in the Ward's Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Carl Florea, officiating. The casket will remain closed. The service will conclude in the chapel, with private burial in the Mt. View Cemetery. The family suggest that memorials be made in her name to the charity of one's choice. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
