Bill and his sister Margaret grew up in Leavenworth, Washington where they spent much of their youth exploring the local Cascade Mountains that surround the town. Bill left Leavenworth in 1939 to attend Washington State College with the assistance of a Lanham Foundation scholarship, graduating in 1943. He married Barbara Bachmann that same year. During World War II, he served as a captain in the US Army Infantry in the Philippines and Japan. He attended Washington University Medical School in St Louis, Missouri, graduating in 1951. He was a founding member of the Redondo Beach Medical Clinic in southern California, where he practiced family medicine for 34 years. Bill missed his mountains for the many years he spent in California. He frequently would take his entire family backpacking in the High Sierras. He was an avid and skilled photographer; enjoyed golf and cross country skiing. Bill returned in 1995 to his beloved mountains. He was preceded in death by son David in 2008. He leaves his wife Barbara and their children and spouses Barbara and Roger Batty, Haena, Hawaii; Michael and Susan Weaver, Pleasant Hill, California; Jim and Tamara Weaver, Bend, Oregon; John and Leslie Weaver, Lafayette, California; Joanna and Brett Cooper, Cayucos, California; Liz and Will Brady, Langlois, Oregon; Bill Weaver and Marina Reisinger, Bend, Oregon; daughter-in-law Barbara Hagedorn, Spokane, Washington; sister-in-law Margaret Brown, Greeley, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family: Terry and Connie McCauley A Funeral Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of William Clinton Weaver was held on February 26, 2009 at Ward's Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth with Deacon Bill Osbourn officiating. Concluding service and interment was at the Mt. View Cemetery in Leavenworth. Memorial contributions may be made in William's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at P.O. Box 3064, Spokane, WA. 99220; the American Heart Association at 710 2nd Ave; Suite 900, Seattle, WA. 98104 or the Central Washington Hospital Hospice Fund at 933 Red Apple Rd., Wenatchee, WA. 98801. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth was in charge of the arrangements.
